Local and national carer organisations
As a carer it’s really important you know that you are not on your own. Talking with others, whether with family members, friends or professionals, can help increase your confidence and remind you that you're not alone or isolated.
There are lots of local and national organisations out there to support you in a variety of difference ways.

Friends, family and carers support group at Mill View Hospital
A support group run by our occupational therapy team at Mill View Hospital for:
- Friends, family and carers of people who use adult mental health services in Brighton & Hove
- Friends, family and carers of people who use Sussex Partnership adult mental health services outside of Brighton & Hove, but where Mill View is the nearest hospital for the carer
The group aims to provide emotional support and practical advice by and for carers. We meet on the first Friday of every month from 2.30 to 4pm.
"I never thought I would find myself coming to this kind of group, but eventually decided to give it a go. I found somewhere friendly and safe to share what often turns out to be quite similar experiences (good and bad!) and - an unexpected plus - to actually feel cared about" Quote from group member.

The Meriden Family Programme and Rethink have created a new resource called Caring for Yourself. This has been developed to help carers, family and friends who support someone with a mental health problem.
