New role for Sam Allen, Chief Executive

It has been announced today that Sam Allen will be leaving her role as CEO at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in the New Year to take up the newly established position of CEO (designate) at North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care System.

Sam Allen said:

"It has been a privilege to have been the CEO of Sussex Partnership for the past five years. I have had the pleasure of working alongside many wonderful people who work in our mental health and learning disability services across Sussex and Hampshire. I am incredibly proud of the work they do to provide skilled, kind and compassionate care to patients, families and carers. Their commitment to the people we serve embodies all that makes the NHS so special".

Peter Molyneux, Chair of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust said:

"Sam is passionate about improving services for patients, families and carers. She is a compassionate leader who inspires others through her integrity, drive and authenticity. When she takes up her new role, I know she will continue the work she has been instrumental in shaping at Sussex Partnership to promote inclusion, tackle health inequalities and continuously improve patient experience for people with mental health needs and learning disabilities." 

Adam Doyle, Chief Executive of the Sussex NHS Commissioners and Integrated Care System  Leader in Sussex, said:

Sam has been integral in helping to drive forward the development, ambitions and achievements of our Integrated Care System in Sussex. She has been an important advocate for the value of health and care services working more closely together to better support our local communities.”

Anne Eden, Regional Director (South East) of NHS England and Improvement said:

"I want to thank Sam for her values-based leadership and her commitment to continuous health and care improvement. She has played a pivotal role in helping us develop the way mental health and learning disability services are planned and delivered to meet the needs of patients, carers and families living in the South East." 

The recruitment process for a new CEO at Sussex Partnership is underway. During the time between Sam's departure and a new substantive CEO appointee coming into position, Chief Nursing Officer Dr Jane Padmore will be Interim CEO.
