Heads On Heroes
The team is enthusiastic and committed to raising money to support new initiatives on their ward, to the benefit of patients.
The team from Pavilion Ward at Mill View Hospital, Hove, has dedicated themselves to raising money for our charity, Heads On, to support projects at the hospital which improve the experience of both patients and staff.
They were the top fundraiser at this year’s Walk for Wards, our annual 5k or 10k walk or run in aid of Heads On.
They’ve also head numerous fundraising events throughout the year, including a fun day which was open to the public and included a barbecue, stalls, tombola and fun activities. The local fire service also attended.
The team is trying to raise money to install a fully functioning kitchen for patients on the Ward. It will allow patients to be more independent, and enable them to take part in cookery activities.
Their fundraising has also paid for a new therapeutic courtyard space, with a vegetable patch and greenhouse, to allow patients to grow their own food, which they can then prepare in the kitchen to create healthy meals and learn how good nutrition can support their overall health and wellbeing.
