Older adults inpatient services

We provide specialist inpatient services for older adults.

We provide specialist inpatient care for older people (aged 65 and over) whose mental health difficulties may be placing them at risk of harm to themselves, or occasionally to others. In our services we will always do our best to try to treat your mental health at home before considering an admission. If you are admitted, we will work with you and your family to get you back home as soon as possible, to support your independence and health.

When you are admitted to the service, we will work with you and your family and carers to assess and identify your mental health and care needs. We will also consider your physical health needs and develop a personalised care plan to support your ongoing needs.

We are multi-disciplinary teams, which may include a consultant doctor, ward doctor, matron, ward manager, nurses, psychological professions, occupational and drama therapists, physician associate, health care assistant, discharge co-ordinator, and administrators.
