Meadowfield Hospital

At Meadowfield Hospital we care for people with acute mental health problems whose current level of need requires them to be admitted to hospital.

There is also a Haven at Meadowfield Hopsital, which is a dedicated mental health crisis support facility.

We have three mixed inpatient wards at Meadowfield, two for people between 18 and 65 years old, and one for patients over 65. Across all our wards we care for people with mental health problems such as depression, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder and bipolar affective disorder.

On the site we also have our Neuromodulation Clinic and our Crisis Resolution Home Treatment team. You can find out more about these services at the bottom of this page.

When you're admitted to Meadowfield Hospital we'll help you settle in. We'll complete an admission process by carrying out some assessments and talking to you to about how you're feeling. The team will then work up a care plan with you and your carer. We'll review the care plan regularly throughout your stay in hospital to make sure it's kept up to date. We have a full programme of activities and therapeutic groups designed to promote your recovery.

Hospital visiting times are between 10am until 8pm. Please call the ward before visiting just to confirm individual arrangements, particularly concerning Covid-19.

We have a comprehensive team of professionals, including:

  • Consultant
  • Ward doctors
  • Ward manager
