How our Trust is run

Our Board and

Governors

As an NHS Foundation Trust we have more freedom to shape services that match the needs of local people. Individuals can also have a formal say over how we're run by becoming a member or a governor.

The regulator of NHS Foundation Trusts, NHS Improvement, makes sure our organisation is well-led so patients receive quality care. The Care Quality Commission, the independent regulator of health and social care, regularly inspects our services to make sure they are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

Our Board of Directors is made up of an executive team and non-executive directors. The Board sets our strategic aims and objectives and monitors our performance. Our elected Council of Governors, which includes patients, carers, staff and members, holds the Board to account and provides a direct link with our local community.
