I feel proud to be a governor. As a people person, I work as a Peer Trainer with Sussex Recovery College, where I meet and work with service users and clinicians. I am a service user myself, and have been for over 20yrs. Because of this, I have seen many changes in the mental health system. I also help at Shepherd House Worthing, a small psychiatric hospital, where I run a hearing voices group. This is a chance to meet with service users and staff. I think it is very important to work together, and respect each other.
I am a positive person, and like to think as a governor I can input into how things can be improved. I am a good listener, as well as being able to communicate with people from all walks of life as well as being very loyal and trustworthy I am always happy to learn.
As a governor I want to help maintain high quality care for service users, and the people who care for them. I am passionate about the NHS and am proud of the services they provide.
