New strategy in development for the Provider Collaborative

HNA workshop 4.jpegPartners in Kent, Surrey and Sussex are working together to co-produce a new strategy for the Provider Collaboration (PC) to set the vision and priorities for the long-term to meet the needs of the population.

The future priorities for the PC include:

  • Managing local demand closer to home, informed by comprehensive local health needs analysis findings
  • Improving patient access and focus on least restrictive, trauma informed models of care
  • Expanding the range and contribution of early intervention activities jointly with partners across health, social care and the criminal justice system
  • Developing capacity and workforce to meet the challenges and opportunities of a changing profile of acuity and reasonable adjustments to respond to a growing range of neurodiversity in the patient population.
  • Exploring opportunities with system partners about how to reduce reliance on secure services for people in the criminal justice system.

Supported by healthcare consultancy and advisory service WSP, the PC held a series of a collaborative workshops for partners to identify the current challenges and opportunities to transform adult secure inpatient and community services for the future. The final workshop took place in June 2024 in Crawley in West Sussex.

Informed by the feedback from the workshops, the strategy will be developed and shared with partners for review over the summer months.
