What is the Kent and Sussex Adult Eating Disorders Provider Collaborative?

Kent and Sussex Adult Eating Disorders PC logo.pngThe Kent and Sussex Adult Eating Disorders Provider Collaborative (PC) is responsible for commissioning specialist adult eating disorder beds and managing admissions and discharge planning for people from Kent and Sussex with a severe eating disorder diagnosis, including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder.

The PC, which went live in October 2022, is a partnership between Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT) and North East London Foundation Trust (NELFT).

Driving improvements

The aim of the PC is to drive quality improvement and the transformation of services to improve patient outcomes and enhance their experience. This includes reducing unnecessary hospital admissions, increasing the availability of outpatient care and, where possible, enabling people to be treated close to home and their communities and in the least restrictive environment.

The PC is leading on a range of innovative projects to enhance the quality of patient care and improve outcomes. This includes a virtual intensive eating disorder day service and a focussed admission pathway, where a patient's length of stay in hospital is shorter with ongoing support provided in the community.
