Provider Collaborative appoints a participation lead

Lara Tozer, Participation Lead.pngThe Provider Collaborative is delighted to welcome Lara Tozer to the new role as Participation Lead. Read on to learn about her background and what her priorities will be in this new role.

Hi, I am Lara. I started in the role as Participation Lead for the Kent and Sussex Adult Eating Disorder Provider Collaborative in October 2024. I am very excited to be in post as I am passionate about involving service users and carers in service improvement.

I recently worked as a Participation Officer in Health and Care Research. Prior to this, I worked in various NHS roles, first as a co-ordinator for cancer services, then in quality improvement and more recently as the NICE guidance manager.

I have lived experience of using mental health services and have been involved in several lived experience roles in research.  My initial priorities within this new role are to:

  • Develop a system for capturing the voice of our out-of-area patients, considering how we capture, store and present this information.
  • Focus on recruiting experts by experience (EbEs). These are people and carers who have had contact with the services commissioned by the Provider Collaborative.
  • Set up a Working Together Group at our inpatient unit.

I look forward to working with you.  If you would like to find out more or get involved, please email laramichelle.tozer@nhs.net
