Meet the team…Sara McCluskey
Tell us a bit about your role
As Clinical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist for the Adult Eating Disorders Provider Collaborative, I bring a medical perspective to the team. The role is very rewarding as the values of the team align with my own. I am passionate about ensuring patients get the best quality care whilst they are being cared for on inpatient units, and working with partners to developing alternatives to admission.
How long have you been in your role/working for the Provider Collaborative?
In May 2025, I will have been with the Provider Collaborative for two years.
What's your favourite thing about your job?
Working closely with partners to develop seamless transitions between community and inpatient care and working with experts by experience to co-produce innovative new services and ways of working.
How did you get into the role?
I had been working with the Provider Collaborative team as a community and inpatient consultant when an opportunity arose for a secondment, which I applied for and was then appointed into my substantive role.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy painting and drawing, sea swimming, meeting up with friends and family, and binge-watching box sets!
Is there anything people would be surprised to know about you?
My great uncle was a balloonist in the First World War. My father was a survivor of Dunkirk and my mother was a Radio Operator for the WRAF, guiding pilots down after missions.
