Working with our Experts by Experience

Post it notes to illustrate the gathering of ideas-1875512_1280.jpgThe Provider Collaborative (PC) has been working with young people and their families and carers to listen to their stories and gain feedback about how services can be improved.

As part of this work, the PC has created a framework to embed Experts by Experience (EbEs) within the services and the service developments it has responsibility for.

Experts by Experience are young people and family members or carers who have had direct contact with Tier 4 CAMHS mental health services and can provide their expert and lived experience to help shape services and the direction of PC.

The PC's Participation Team works with EbEs from across Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Sussex, Kent and Medway to ensure their experiences and ideas are at the heart of strategic planning for the Provider Collaborative.

Examples of the work EBEs have been involved in include recording and producing videos on various topics to inform change and attending interview panels to support recruitment for the PC and PC partners.

EBEs are supported throughout their involvement, which can be as much or as little as they would like, and they can opt to be part of things that interest them the most.

If you would like to find out more about our EbE programme and becoming an EbE, please take a look at the Padlet pages (links below) that the Participation Team have set up for young people or parents and carers.
