New clinical model in development for children and young people

Stakeholders will be invited to feedback on the proposed model and service specification before it goes to full public consultation.

If you would like to be part of the Clinical Reference Group, you can register as a stakeholder on NHS England's website to review and feedback on the proposed model, service specification and commissioning guidance.

Much of the work of the Provider Collaboration already aligns with the proposed clinical model, in particular the development of alternatives to admission that will enable children and young people to be treated more locally and in services that can meet their needs. These include intensive home treatment services such as Closer2Home in Hampshire and the Spring Tide Eating Disorder Day Service in Sussex.

The clinical model also outlines the need for more flexible inpatient services that can support a broader range of clinical conditions, including young people with a learning disability, autism and/or neurodiversity.

The Provider Collaborative will work with partners to plan for the proposed new model and develop the full range of services outlined for children and young people to ensure they can be supported within the footprint, wherever possible. A dedicated system-wide forum has been established by the Provider Collaborative to enable discussions which will also feed into the development of the wider Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Sussex, Kent and Medway CAMHS Provider Collaborative strategy.

Please contact spft.hskpc@nhs.net if you would like to get involved in either workstream.

NHS England has produced a diagram to provide a pictorial representation of the new clinical model and the range of services within it. Download a PDF of the diagram
