The Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Sussex, Kent and Medway Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Provider Collaborative is responsible for commissioning specialist mental health, learning disability and autism services and managing the admission and discharge plans for young people with complex needs who live in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Sussex, Kent and Medway.

The new HSK CAMHS PC is a consolidation of the Kent and Sussex and Wessex and Dorset CAMHS PCs, which previously operated as separate entities.

Our partners

The Provider Collaborative was launched on 1 May 2024 and is led by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which works in partnership with NHS trusts and independent sector providers from across the region to deliver an efficient service and improve patient experience and outcomes.

Our partners are:

  • Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
  • North East London NHS Foundation Trust
  • Elysium Healthcare

Achievements

Since the inception of the PCs, the average waiting time for admission has reduced by 30% and more young people are accessing intensive home and community-based treatment programmes. This means they can remain at home with their families and in their communities rather than be admitted to hospital.

Focus for 2024-25

A key focus of the HSK PC for 2024/25 will be to work in partnership with the Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) to create a full range of in-patient beds and alternatives to admission. This will reduce the need for out of area placements for children and young people in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Sussex, Kent and Medway.
