Anti-Racism Policy
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (the Trust) recognises that structural and interpersonal racism exists in NHS workplaces and services, and has a profound impact on racialised and ethnically and culturally diverse communities. The Trust is committed to being an actively anti-racist organisation.
The Trust is determined to provide inclusive and safe environments for its workforce and service users, and acknowledges that appropriate and sustained steps must be taken to achieve this.
This policy sets out the ways that the Trust will actively identify, challenge, prevent, eliminate and change the values, structures, policies, programmes, practices and behaviours that perpetuate racism and racial discrimination.
This policy works in conjunction with the Trust's Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Human Rights Policy, and aligns to the Sussex Workforce Race Equality Strategy 2023-2025 and the NHS England Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework (PCREF).
