Working Time Regulations Policy
he Trust is committed to providing a healthy working environment for all staff. It recognises that staff are more productive if they are able to strike a healthy balance between their life at work and at home.
The Working Time Regulations are aimed at limiting the average working time for employees in the European Union to 48 hours a week. They were designed to protect workers from exploitation by employers. Excessive working time is a major cause of stress, depression and illness, and the aim of the Regulations is to protect people's health and safety.
The purpose of this policy is to translate the Regulations into practices designed to ensure that members of staff do not work longer hours than necessary and have adequate breaks from work.
