Creating consistent mental health signposting advice for adults in Sussex

17 July 2024

We have joined together with other local partners and organisations to help make it easier for people in Sussex to get the information and support they need for their mental health, when they need it.

Mental health services in Sussex are delivered by multiple organisations, which can make it difficult for people to find and access help. The Mental Health Services Communications Working Group (MHSCWG), a collaboration between NHS, primary care, VCSE, local authority partners and people with lived experience, was formed to help develop solutions to these challenges.

Independent research in 2023 highlighted some key issues, which the group has used as a guide to develop clear and consistent mental health signposting information for Sussex, for all organisations and providers of support to use on their own websites and digital resources. This information has been co-produced by people with lived experience and service providers and has been clinically reviewed. It is also written in a way that will help people find the right support and services based on how they are feeling.

We have updated our own mental health signposting information on the website in support of this system-wide approach to help people to access the information and support they need.
